Recipe: Cake in the Microwave! Really!

published on July 3rd, 2008 . by Jennifer

I’ve made this cake a few times now and it always turns out fabulously. You can vary the recipe however you like with different flavors of cake mix and pie filling.

Strawberry Chocolate Cake

1 box (18-1/4 oz) chocolate cake mix
3 egg whites
1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
1/4 cup water
1 tub chocolate frosting

Lightly spray Heat ‘N Serve 8-1/4 cup Oval Container with cooking spray and set aside. Blend cake mix, egg whites, pie filling, and water until well combined. Pour batter into Heat ‘N Serve, spreading evenly. Place uncovered in microwave oven and bake for 11-13 minutes at high power. After 10 minutes, check every minute and remove from microwave when a small area appears uncooked at center of cake. Place on rack and cool 10 minutes before turning out onto a serving plate. Allow to cool slightly and glaze with frosting. Serve warm.

Focus Week!

published on July 1st, 2008 . by Jennifer

Ack! I meant to get this out on Saturday. So sorry it’s late!

Anyway, it’s that time of year for Focus Week, which coincides with Fourth of July! Woo! And our special offer this week is on the Thatsa Bowl Jr, which is a 12-cup version of our popular Thatsa Bowl. I’ll see if I can get a picture up here soon! Anyway, it’s not something that’s not in our regular catalog–it only pops up every so often in sales specials. Retail value is $12.50, but you can purchase it for just $6.25 (plus tax and shipping). I am not finding a place to order it on the Tupperware website–if you find it there let me know, otherwise I can order you one.

Summer Savings on Tupperware Impressions Collection!

published on June 30th, 2008 . by Jennifer

Through July 11, several items in our Tupperware Impressions collection are on sale. Great products, these are often among my customers’ favorites.

Classic Bowl Set (3 pc set)

Chip n Dip Set

Serving Center

Salt and Pepper Shakers

2 qt pitcher and 16oz blue tumblers (I love these cups! The straw seal makes them spill-resistant for my kids, but grownups will drink out of them, too)

Tote-em Pails® Toy

published on June 27th, 2008 . by Jennifer

My kids are dying for this toy. Every time they see it at the Tupperware cart, they want to play with it. It’s suitable for sand and water play, and all the containers nest in each other. Half of them have holes to allow sifting of sand or pouring of water. Great summer fun!

(and yes, I’ll be putting my children out of their misery soon!)

Recipe: Simply Salsa, simply yummy!

published on June 26th, 2008 . by Jennifer

Such a quick and easy salsa!

Simply Salsa

1 medium onion (I use a red onion)
2 cloves garlic
juice of 1/2 lime
1 (15oz) can diced tomatoes
1 Tbsp Tupperware Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend
Optional:
2-3 Tbsp fresh cilantro

Peel and slice onion into 4 pieces; place in Quick Chef with blade, cover and turn handle until onion is roughly chopped. Peel and smash two garlic cloves and add to Quick Chef. Add remaining ingredients; cover and turn handle until desired consistency. Remove blade and place salsa in snack cups or a bowl for serving. Serve with chips or as a topping for tacos.
